At the hospital, supervising physician Dr. C suggested that upon release that Foxy needed to see an internist and a neurologist. We met today with Dr. S, an internist who carefully listened to Foxy's problem and suggested that she had temporary amnesia during the event and would not ever remember that time period. She suggested several other tests which should happen this week such as an echo-cardiogram amongst others as well as a visit to a neurologist. We feel that the medical staff has been very supportive and took the time to really listen and further examine Foxy. We came away from our meeting pleased that we were in good hands medically and grateful for all of the support.
Tonight we called Maurice and Anne to wish her a belated happy birthday and see how things were going there with mom. Yesterday Maurice lost entirely the hearing in his right ear and does not know what happened but hopes to get this problem seen to in the next several days. I can only conclude that it is tough being 70 or more years old.
Finally today after visiting with Dr. S, we drove to Louisville to go to Cost Co and to have lunch at La Madeline which was excellent. At Cost Co I got Foxy to have her hearing checked since she has not been hearing clearly lately. Yup! You guessed it! She has to have hearing aids to help her hear in the higher ranges. So, we ordered them and they should be here and fitted in 4-5 days. Foxy is feeling more and more bionic. When she turns 70 in June she can then be welcomed into the "tough being 70 group." It has been a stressful week for both of us but we have been very appreciative of support both near and far. Happy travels.
