Boots made in China

While in Whichita we decided to visit several cowboy clothing stores. What we found was really discouraging to me since maybe 80 to 90 percent of the boots were made in China. There is something wrong for someone who lives in Texas to try to buy a pair of cowboy boots made in China. We did find some made in Mexico which were fine but to buy a pair made in the USA it was quite a search. We will soon suffer in this country in that we are so dependent upon other countries for the many things we use and buy. The recent tragedy in Japan brings this home when car companies here have to shut down because they cannot get parts which are made in Japan. We are thinking that we will buy only things made in the USA or North America. This small rebellion will have no impact on our trade imbalance but we will put our money where our mouth is. Will you join me? Happy travels.

Wish we could get the entire country to buy only USA-made products. That would certainly make an impact!
